May 2 will be a crucial day for the country.

The Indian Election Commission announced on Friday that the results of the parliamentary elections of five Indian states will be revealed there.

In total, more than 220 million citizens will soon be called to the polls.

In detail, the elections will begin on March 27 for the northern states of Assam and Bengal.

The southern states - Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry - will vote from April 6.

These elections are shaping up to be a political barometer in India.

Kerala and Bengal are indeed both ruled by leftist coalitions opposed to the government and Tamil Nadu by a regional party.

These three states have a very important economic and demographic weight.

Even before the dates were announced, the campaign began.

Congress party figure Rahul Gandhi traveled to Kerala this week for a march and meetings.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the BJP party, he moved this Friday to Tamil Nadu, he promised infrastructure projects.

The two rival parties of course took the opportunity to get rid of each other.
