Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The FDP parliamentary group in the Hessian state parliament calls on the state government to be more courageous in easing the corona.

The plan presented this week is “at best a strategy change light”, criticized the parliamentary group leader René Rock on Friday in Wiesbaden.

Instead of relying on the incidence - that is, the new infections reported within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants - the focus should be on vaccinations and tests.

"Especially now that self-tests are coming, that should play a bigger role in the consideration," demanded Rock.

The FDP relies on concepts and risk assessment instead of incidence in order to enable faster openings and loosening.

The plan of possible easing presented by Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) is too non-binding.

"The steps are difficult to understand for the public and remain solely at the discretion of the state government," said Rock.

It is important that the new regulation comes into force on March 8th.

"For each area from gastronomy to culture, concepts must be drawn up in advance that must contain three points: namely, secure tracking - ideally via app - compliance with the AHA rules and technical solutions for reducing aerosols."

Hessen is planning to relax the current strict corona rules for March, for example with regard to contact restrictions.

The state government's perspective plan then provides for the partial lifting of the protective measures in force against infection with the coronavirus in four stages by May.

The health policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group, Yanki Pürsün, called for the mandatory use of rapid tests in high-risk workplaces, but above all in daycare centers and schools.

According to the FDP, outdoor dining and outdoor activities could be allowed as early as mid-March if tracking is ensured.
