Berlin (dpa / bb) - The police have seized a large amount of drugs in the basement of an apartment building in Berlin-Falkenhagener Feld.

The officers searched the cellar shed of a 37-year-old tenant in Zeppelinstrasse in the Spandau district on Thursday afternoon for evidence of repeated drug smells, the police said on Friday.

A kilogram of suspected marijuana, a small amount of hashish, fine scales, a blank gun with blank cartridges and money were found there in various containers.

The tenant's 36-year-old partner is said to be responsible for the drugs.

He was arrested shortly afterwards as a suspected drug dealer.

He was supposed to be brought before a judge on Friday.
