Presseck (dpa / lby) - A dog stumbled into an animal trap on a forest path in Upper Franconia, which, according to police knowledge, a hunter had set there illegally.

The metal snap trap near Presseck (Kulmbach district) injured both the animal and its owner when the animal wanted to free it, the police said on Friday.

Because the trap was labeled, it could quickly be assigned to a hunter.

The investigators assume that he laid them out.

According to the information, the trap did not meet the regulations and was not reported to the district office.

The suspect now has to answer for violations of the Hunting and Animal Welfare Act and negligent bodily harm.

The trap was secured.

According to the police, the injured dog and the ruler are now fine again.
