Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - SV Darmstadt 98 is still in the middle of the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga after the sixth season home defeat.

The lilies were defeated by Karlsruher SC in fifth place on Friday evening with 0: 1 (0: 0) and remain in 14th place with 25 points. Kyoung-Rok Choi scored the decisive goal for KSC in the 52nd minute.

After a balanced start, the Südhessen quickly took over the initiative.

Karlsruhe goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck stood in the way of a possible leadership of the home side.

First he saved a shot by Serdar Dursun (21st) from eleven meters with a foot defense, then after half an hour he blocked a free kick by Tobias Kempe.

Another Kempe free kick (42nd) also just hit the bar.

In the second half, KSC increased significantly and used their first chance to take the lead: Choi circled the ball from the right edge of the penalty area into the left corner.

The hit brought security to the guests.

The Darmstadters, however, did not find their way back to their line.
