Munich (dpa / lby) - All health authorities in Bavaria are now using the Corona software "Sormas".

With the program, the authorities should be able to better identify and track contacts of infected people.

If necessary, the data can also be exchanged nationwide.

"In this way, we will avoid duplicating work across national borders in the future when recording contact persons," said Bavaria's Minister of Health Klaus Holetschek (CSU) on Friday.

The ministry announced that the use of “Sormas” (Surveillance Outbreak Response Management and Analysis System) will be expanded in the coming weeks.

The interfaces to other programs of the health authorities are to be made available.

The federal and state governments had decided to introduce the new software across Germany in all health authorities by the end of February.

However, this goal is unlikely to be achieved in all federal states.
