The shock took place this Friday around 5 p.m. as the train approached Nantes, its terminus.
A TGV that left Paris is still blocked in the middle of the track after having collided with a person who was on the rails, between Thouaré-sur-Loire and Sainte-Luce.
The victim did not survive, says
Presse Océan.
According to SNCF, 410 passengers are on board the immobilized train.
Strong disruptions are underway on the Nantes-Paris line, whose traffic, completely interrupted, should not resume before “7:30 pm or even 7:50 pm”.
Two TGVs were diverted via Rennes, with an additional journey time of about an hour and a half.
Substitute coaches have been set up for certain TER journeys.
