During the events, the victim, in her eighties, was seriously injured.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Thursday in Vénissieux, near Lyon, as part of an investigation opened nine months ago after a robbery with violence perpetrated in Oullins.

On May 28, rue Charton, a suspect had stolen the old lady's handbag and made it fall to the ground before kicking her, Lyon police recalled this Friday.

The victim had undergone 45 days of ITT.

Referred to the prosecution

In the days following the assault, the octogenarian's bank card was used to pay for purchases in various stores.

By exploiting the images of the video surveillance, the investigators managed to identify the user of the card: a young Venissian already known to the police services, arrested this week, that is to say nine months after the facts.

The minor, placed in police custody, only admitted to having used the credit card knowing that it was stolen, without admitting the theft and the violence that followed, adds urban security.

But he did not want to communicate the identity of the person who allegedly stole the card and committed the violence.

The suspect must be presented this Friday to the Lyon prosecutor's office for indictment.
