Erfurt (dpa / th) - Thuringia's agricultural operations received a financial injection of 42 million euros for their projects in environmental and species protection last year.

The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Friday in Erfurt that the money was going to 1700 companies.

For example, it is about the preservation of rare breeds of livestock, the creation of flower strips, grassland cultivation without fertilizer or the prevention of soil erosion.

Applications for funding could be submitted as early as 2022.

According to the ministry, farms have been receiving subsidies for the past year since 2016 at the end of February.
