The woman was entitled to two visits a day by the home care service, but between 15 May and 3 July 2020, only one visit is documented - the fourth of June.

According to the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate, IVO, the woman may have been dead in the home for a month and they see major shortcomings in the home care service not documenting the times they visited the woman without contacting her.

- If you had followed routines for what you do when someone does not open the door, this might not have had to happen, says Bodil Wennerbrandt Sevastik (S), chairman of the social committee.

Did not get help shopping

The now deceased woman would also get help with shopping, but even that did not happen.

During the documented visit, the woman is said to have mentioned this, but since she did not want to use the card, nothing happened and she was referred to the Red Cross.

- You end up in this with the cashless society.

It will be a question for society at large, but of course you should get help even if you do not have a card, says Bodil Wennerbrandt Sevastik (S).
