The prosecutor charged allegations that the defendant Wen Guodong used to serve as a member of the Standing Committee of the Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in Qinghai Province, deputy governor of the Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture People’s Government, deputy secretary and secretary of the Committee of the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of the Qinghai Province of the Communist Party of China, and Haixi The Secretary of the Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Committee and the Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Qaidam Circular Economy Pilot Zone in Qinghai Province facilitated their positions to seek benefits for others and illegally accept other people’s property. According to public information, Wen Guodong was born in Xining, Qinghai, in August 1968. He used to serve as secretary of the Menyuan County Party Committee of Qinghai Province, member of the Standing Committee of the Haixi Prefecture Party Committee, Minister of the Organization Department, and secretary of the Yushu Prefecture Party Committee.
In July 2020, Wen Guodong served as Vice Governor of Qinghai Province, Secretary of Haixi Prefecture Committee, Secretary of Party Working Committee of Qaidam Circular Economy Pilot Zone.
In September of the same year, officials reported that he was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, voluntarily surrendered, and accepted investigation.
On January 4 this year, the website of the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced that Wen Guodong was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law.
He was accused of "relying on coal to eat coal", engaging in profit exchange with illegal private business owners, and acting as a "protective umbrella" for illegal coal mining. As a result, the problem of illegal coal mining in the Muli mining area in Qinghai on the southern foot of the Qilian Mountains has been rectified and banned. .
