Leinfelden-Echterdingen (dpa / lsw) - In the stalled collective bargaining negotiations for the metal and electrical industry in the southwest, IG Metall has announced warning strikes for the coming week.

After the third round of talks with the employers' side on Thursday in Leinfelden-Echterdingen was unsuccessful and without much rapprochement, the union called on employees to take temporary work stoppages from March 2nd.

Baden-Württemberg's IG Metall boss Roman Zitzelsberger announced that the warning strikes would be “visible” and “noticeable”.

The employers' association Südwestmetall criticized the move.

IG Metall is demanding, among other things, four percent more money - either in the form of wage increases or as at least partial compensation if a company cuts working hours in a crisis.

Südwestmetall categorically rejects this and

demands

that special collective bargaining regulations be deleted or shortened.
