Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Stuttgart Higher Regional Court has brought charges against twelve members and supporters of the alleged right-wing terrorist group "Gruppe S."

The trial should begin on April 13, a court spokesman said on Thursday.

According to SWR research, Werner S., who was accused of ringleader and after whom the group is named, tried to hire a murderer while in custody in Augsburg.

A spokesman for the Augsburg public prosecutor confirmed such an investigation to the SWR upon request.

S. is said to have offered a former Mafia member up to 50,000 euros if he kills the main witness of the trial.

According to the Federal Prosecutor's office, the terror cell is said to have planned attacks on mosques to initiate the political upheaval.

According to the indictment, the aim of the founding members was “to shake the state and social order of the Federal Republic of Germany and ultimately to overcome it”.

They are said to have mainly considered violence against Muslims, but also against those who think differently politically.
