The Valencian Community reopens as of March 1 the hotel business in terraces and extends the meetings to 4 people.

The

de-escalation plan after the third wave of the coronavirus

announced this Thursday by the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, includes the extension of the hours of shops until 8:00 p.m., which may also increase their capacity to 50%, as the sector had claimed.

Parks and gardens are reopened but the curfew is maintained from 10 pm and the perimeter closure of the entire Valencian Community.

These are the basic lines of a reopening that, in the words of Puig, should be "slow, prudent and progressive", after having managed to reduce the

cumulative incidence

by 88%

in one month

: coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants have gone from overcome the barrier of 1,500 to the current 176.

Even so, there are still 320 patients in the ICU, according to the president, who has therefore asked "that no one relax."

The detail of the new restrictions includes the lifting of

the perimeter closure at the weekend

that affected large municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants.

The end of the restriction, however, will not come this last weekend of February, but will apply from the first of March.

As for the

hospitality industry

, it reopens only on terraces and with a maximum of 75% occupancy, despite the fact that the sector had insistently asked to be able to operate also indoors.

At the moment, it will not be possible and the tables -which will be able to work until 6:00 p.m.- cannot have more than four clients, who must wear the mask at all times.

The decision of the Consell has fallen like a jug of cold water in the sector.

For the Business Coordinator of Leisure and Hospitality of the Valencian Community (CEOH), they continue to be "stigmatized", in addition to considering this partial opening for SMEs "unviable".

For its part, the Castellón Hospitality Association (Ashocas) has directly described de-escalation measures as a "joke".

The

churches

will increase its capacity up to 50% and restrictions on the

sport

are relaxed, albeit under the premise that every activity is conducted to the outdoors.

In this sense, as specified by the Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, sports activities will all have to be done outdoors, "without physical contact" and individually or in pairs.

Those that are made in open facilities by a monitor will have the restriction of groups of a maximum of four people per coach.

In this case, the use of a mask will not be mandatory.

The maximum capacity will be 30%.

In addition,

Infant and Primary students

will be able to participate in "group" sports activities and in training sessions for a maximum of four people, also without physical contact and without the public.

All training, in fact, will be without an audience.

All public or private sports facilities such as gyms or pavilions, that is, those that are not outdoors, will continue to be closed.

Fallas and Magdalena

The new measures to deal with the pandemic will be extended for 14 days.

In addition, it is recommended to municipalities that the holidays associated with local festivals are school days, that is, without school holidays.

This especially affects

Valencia and Castellón

, since Fallas and Magdalena are held in March.

The Valencian Government does not want any act to be held that could favor meetings and, therefore, the spread of the virus.

"We have to assume that these parties will not be able to be celebrated", has warned Barceló, that has advanced meetings with the city councils of Valencia and Castellón to make clear the "red lines" of what cannot be organized.

"We must avoid what is not compatible with the moment we are living," insisted the councilor.

Women's Day

Consequently, Puig has also been very clear about the need not to celebrate March

8

through the massive demonstrations of other years.

"It is a day of vindication, but the way to vindicate must change; the protest space cannot be the street because we must avoid that danger," said the head of the Consell, who on the other hand has been in favor of a European health passport that allows to reactivate mobility between countries and, therefore, tourism.

Of course, he has insisted again that the mobility of the population cannot occur during the

Easter

holidays

.

"We are very concerned," he said, so the Valencian Government will urge an agreement in the inter-territorial council to limit mobility throughout Spain.
