The probation service in Halmstad has conducted a personal investigation of the man in his 25s who, armed with an ax and wearing work clothes, helmet and visor, entered Peder Skrivare's school in Varberg on 28 January this year.

An anxious childhood is part of what led to the incident, according to the suspect.

He states that he suffers from depression and has felt worse during the autumn.

He has also previously served a prison sentence for arson.

The man says in the investigation that he feels bad that he may have hurt someone else.

He should not have had any intention with the actions, other than that it was "a cry for help".

The man is in custody while the police investigate the incident.
