Oberstdorf (dpa) - Ski jumping national trainer Stefan Horngacher has guaranteed world champion Markus Eisenbichler, flight world champion Karl Geiger and Pius Paschke a fixed starting place for the first individual at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf.

The trio will definitely be there on Saturday (4.30 p.m. / ARD and Eurosport) on the normal hill on the Schattenberg, as Horngacher said on Thursday.

The other three World Cup starters Severin Freund, Constantin Schmid and Martin Hamann should jump from fourth German starting place during training on Thursday evening.

Horngacher sees good medal chances for the first World Cup competition.

"The small hill is also our profession, I expect a little more than on the large hill," said the head coach from Austria.

Two years ago in Seefeld and Innsbruck Eisenbichler and Geiger won gold and silver on the large hill.

In the normal hill individual there was no medal back then.
