Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - The Saarland Ministry of Health, together with medical associations, has launched a model project for corona vaccinations by resident doctors.

Seven specialized general practitioners' practices across the country are to take part, as the ministry announced on Thursday.

The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV), the Medical Association and the General Practitioner Association are involved.

In the project, 100 people of the highest priority level who live nearby are to be assigned to each practice from a waiting list every week.

The general practitioners make appointments with the assigned persons for the first and second vaccination.

The practices receive the vaccine and vaccination accessories from KV.

The organizational preparations are already running according to the information.

Once this has been completed, the first vaccinations should be given soon.
