Saarbrücken / Brussels (dpa / lrs) - The Saarland Prime Minister Tobias Hans (CDU) has spoken out against a so-called green vaccination pass.

With a view to the EU special summit on Thursday, he gave the ARD “Mittagsmagazin” according to the message the call for special rights for vaccinated people a rejection.

"We are not far enough with the vaccination success for that," said the head of government.

The current aim is to vaccinate as large a part of the population as possible.

"In my opinion, debates about special rights are out of the question."

The vaccination certificate was the subject of the EU video summit of Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and her colleagues, but ideas about it still diverged widely.

Merkel expressed concerns, her Austrian colleague Sebastian Kurz put pressure.
