Cologne (dpa) - A crooked church spire triggered a major fire brigade operation including roadblocks in Cologne on Thursday.
A passer-by called in the evening and reported from the sloping top of the Church of St. Mary's Conception in Cologne-Bayenthal, said a spokesman for the fire department's location service.
The emergency services would then also have spoken of a clear inclination.
"There were many emergency services on site because we were prepared for a collapse."
However, it was then determined that there were no cracks and no damage.
"Now we are waiting for a structural engineer," said the spokesman.
The "Express" had reported.
