In April last year, Johnny Nilsson fell ill with covid-19.

After he recovered, the consequences came - he thought his heart would be pushed out of his body.

- If I had known what I know now, I would have been even more careful, Nilsson says.

He never ended up in hospital but stayed at home for ten days.

Then he stayed at home for another week.

- I was healthy a few weeks but then;

I went to the emergency room several times with what seemed like a heart attack, he says.

Examined every month

He is one of more than 300 people included in a research study where those affected by corona are followed up with examinations every month for the first time.

It is stated that everyone has a different length of way back to normal.

For Johnny, it took almost a whole year even though he did not need to be cared for in hospital.

- It has meant a lot to me, that they have taken me seriously because my quality of life has clearly deteriorated.

It has been a real pee year, says Johnny, who only now this year is starting to regain his health.
