  • Eight suspects, accused of engaging in this form of trafficking, were arrested in different municipalities by the gendarmes and the police, including six minors.

  • To trace back to the traffickers, the police are carrying out “buying moves”, very supervised operations.

A small ad posted on the networks, an order form and here is the goods delivered to your home.

In the space of two days, eight suspects, including six minors, were arrested in different municipalities in the suburbs of Grenoble, in Isère, as part of operations to fight against "Ubershit", learns

this Thursday to the prosecution.

Since the confinement of last March, this phenomenon of selling drugs online and then delivering them to homes, has been developing strongly in the Grenoble region.

This prompted the gendarmes and police to organize themselves to fight against this form of trafficking "so that traffickers do not invest in this niche thinking that they are safe from all prosecution as well in urban areas , peri-urban than rural, ”says Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant.

Gendarmes and police officers investigate under pseudo

To bring down the dealers, “buying shots” operations are mounted by the police.

This is clearly for the police or gendarmerie to investigate under a pseudonym.

They consult the dealers' "windows", "accessible to all on the main social networks which then refer them to communication applications facilitating anonymity (Snapchat, Telegram ...)", adds the prosecutor.

All types of narcotics are offered for sale, with prices substantially similar to those charged at

points

.

It is then up to the customer to choose the place of delivery, in different places and therefore usual traffic points.

The gendarmes and police only have to follow the procedure of ordinary customers to go back to the dealers.

“The buying moves can only be done in compliance with legal rules that frame the practice, however specifies the prosecutor's office in Grenoble.

Article 230-46 of the Code of Criminal Procedure allows cyber patrollers from the judicial police and the research section of the gendarmerie, under the control of the public prosecutor, to contact the traffickers and order narcotics from them ”.

This does not constitute unfair evidence, obtained by inciting to commit an offense, as long as the tortious activity is established before the start of operations.

It is in this context that three operations were carried out this week around Grenoble.

Tuesday, two minors aged 13 and 14, "used as delivery men", according to the prosecution, in the town of Seyssinet, were arrested by the gendarmes.

The younger of the two was handed over to his parents and will later be summoned by the courts.

The 14-year-old boy was presented, accompanied by his parents, to the delegate of the prosecutor for a reminder of the law.

Big risks for users too

That same day, an adult man, acting alone according to the first elements and known for drug trafficking, was also arrested by the research section.

His police custody has been extended.

In the police zone, a 20-year-old man, also known for narcotics cases, was arrested this week and presented Wednesday before the Grenoble Criminal Court with a view to being tried in immediate appearance.

The suspect requested time to prepare his defense and was remanded in custody pending trial.

At the same time, four suspects aged 14 to 17 were arrested near Grenoble for having engaged in “ubershit”.

During the operation, one of the young people came into contact with the police officer who had ordered, while two of his associates were on the lookout and the fourth had drugs, adds the public prosecutor, recalling the risks incurred by customers who would be tempted to use home delivery people.

Users can be easily identified by the police and therefore prosecuted, the order books of dealers being scrutinized during investigations.

It is also not uncommon for customers to be fooled by traffickers, recalls the prosecutor, by paying before delivery in bitcoins or prepaid payment card without ever ultimately receiving the goods.

It also happens that the users fall, during the appointment fixed to recover the drug, on a pseudo-salesman come to take the money without providing the narcotics.
