Potsdam (dpa / bb) - For the time being, the AfD is still not represented in the Parliamentary Control Commission of the Brandenburg State Parliament to control the work of the protection of the constitution.

Parliament also voted against candidate Dennis Hohloch on Thursday.

The parliamentary manager of the AfD parliamentary group received 22 yes votes, 49 MPs voted against him with one abstention.

It was the 16th ballot, so far 15 AfD MPs have run, one twice.

Each of the six parliamentary groups is supposed to have a representative in the commission.

In January, the AfD parliamentary group caused a stir in the election to fill the post because it had proposed the MP Andreas Kalbitz.

The federal arbitration court had confirmed the cancellation of Kalbitz by the federal board.

The former state and parliamentary group leader is said to have concealed earlier memberships with the Republicans and with the now banned “home-loyal German youth”.

After criticism, the AfD faction withdrew Kalbitz as a candidate and put Felix Teichner on, who did not receive a majority.

The state's protection of the constitution has been observing the AfD Brandenburg since June as a suspected right-wing extremist case.
