Berlin (dpa / bb) - Because of serious sexual abuse of a little boy, the trial against a 48-year-old has started at the Berlin district court.
The man is charged with four attacks.
The child was charged with four years old when the first act was committed.
At the beginning of the hearing on Thursday, the defense attorney said that her client fully admitted the allegations.
It is also true that he filmed two of the acts between 2015 and 2017 and owned other child pornography.
The boy's mother was the first to testify that the defendant was her mother's neighbor.
She has known him as a good uncle since she was 14.
"He was like a family member, I trusted him and therefore entrusted him with my son," said the 29-year-old.
He was regularly in her apartment, helped and went to the playground or the zoo with her little son.
After moving, however, she broke off contact with the man.
She only found out later from the police about attacks on her boy.
The proceedings against the accused had started through a tip from a witness.
She is said to have reported to the police that there were banned images on the 48-year-old's computer.

During a search of the man's apartment in Berlin-Spandau in September 2019, around 3800 child and youth pornographic image files were found, according to the indictment.
The evaluation of the material led to suspicion of serious child abuse in four cases.
The trial will continue on March 17th.
