Bremen (dpa) - Bremen's head of government Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD) wants to advertise a change to the current contact restriction at the federal-state talks next week.

The current rule, according to which a household could only meet one other person outside the household, was correct with an incidence of 200.

But it no longer fits with an incidence of 60 or 70. "We need realistic rules because otherwise people will go by the flag," said Bovenschulte on Thursday in the Bremen citizenship.

He will also address this in the Prime Minister's Conference on March 3rd.

A return to the general rule of “five people from two households” must be discussed, but this only works in a national context.

"Because the strictest rules don't help if people no longer adhere to them because they consider the requirements to be excessive or disproportionate."

Bovenschulte brought up further opening steps for outdoor sports in Bremen.

“Appointment shopping” should also be possible for retailers, with customers being served in stores at fixed times.

Bovenschulte received support from the CDU opposition in calling for a more flexible regulation of contact restrictions.

However, he criticized the fact that the primary schools in Bremen were opened, but that there was no mask requirement in the classes.

In addition, with a view to the Prime Minister's Conference, he warned against opening steps only for individual industries.

"Better small steps for everyone than larger steps for a few," said Röwekamp.

"I cannot convey to anyone that shopping in a flower shop is safer than shopping in a shoe shop."
