Munich (dpa / lby) - Because of the Corona crisis, the eleventh grade students in Bavaria only have to write two exams per subject this school year.

«Despite Corona, we ensure the high quality of the Bavarian high school diploma and technical diploma.

But it is also important to me that we avoid a concentration of school assignments and exams in the attendance phases, ”said Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) on Thursday in Munich.

This is also necessary because the 11th grades at grammar schools and technical colleges are currently still completely in distance learning.

For school assignments, the new regulation stipulates that one must be written per semester and subject.

If two school assignments have already been written in the first half of the year, no more need to be completed in the second half of the year.

The results achieved in the entire 2020/21 school year can be assessed as a result for the first as well as for the second school half year

For the high school graduation class 2021, which has been back to schools mostly in alternating classes since February 1, Piazolo had already postponed the high school diploma dates and reduced the number of school assignments in the second half of the year - exams only take place in the written high school subjects.

For the 12th and 13th grade of the vocational high schools, the specifications for the so-called other performance certificates have now also been adjusted.

Here, due to the corona, only two purely verbal proof of performance per half-year are sufficient in exceptional cases.

"Despite Corona, there will be a fair and high-quality Abitur or technical diploma," said Piazolo.
