A 26-year-old young man was killed by stabbing this Wednesday evening in a street in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), we learned this Thursday from the Bobigny prosecutor's office.

The homicide took place Wednesday "shortly before 6.30 pm" on the public highway of this popular commune, "near the Porte de Paris", he said.

The victim, seriously injured "in the neck and in the side", died in spite of the support of the help, indicated a police source.

A person, arrested just after the facts and aged 28, was in custody on Thursday, said the prosecution.

"The attacker was apprehended by the agents of the municipal police force of Saint-Denis, on patrol on the scene of the crime", specifies the city in a press release, in reaction to this "new attack with the knife".

This suspect was "armed with a saber and an American fist with a blade, which were stained with blood", according to a source close to the investigation.

The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis, in particular to determine the context in which the facts took place.
