Potsdam (dpa / bb) - A 20-year-old has triggered a fire alarm in the state main archive in Potsdam and called the fire brigade and police on the scene.

The emergency services had not found a fire in the archive in the street Am Mühlenberg on Thursday, as the police department West announced.

However, the officials came across a 20-year-old who admitted to triggering the alarm manually.

When the police wanted to check the identity of the young man, he suddenly hit one of the officers and touched his face.

The police then brought the man to the ground.

The 20-year-old defended himself violently and insulted the officials "with vulgar terms, among other things."

Nobody was injured.

The man was taken into custody to determine his identity.

The police could not give any information about the motive, but the 20-year-old probably suffers from health problems, said a spokesman.

The police are investigating the man for abusing emergency calls, resisting law enforcement officers and insulting him.
