No new case of Covid-19 has been detected for 48 hours in the ranks of the XV of France where the PCR tests carried out Tuesday evening are negative, announced Wednesday the French Rugby Federation.

The tests carried out on Monday evening on all the players and the management had already turned out to be all negative.

"Tests will be carried out daily until the France-Scotland meeting this Sunday", counting for the third day of the Six Nations Tournament, said the FFR.

In total, 15 cases had been identified across the group, including eleven players, a physical trainer and three other staff members, since France's victory in Ireland (15-13) on February 14.

Among the positive cases were notably the coach Fabien Galthié as well as eight titular players since the start of the Tournament, of which the Blues are leaders after the first two days.

The whole of the first line is affected with contaminations of the left pillar Cyril Baille, the hooker Julien Marchand and the right pillar Mohamed Haouas.

Added to this are captain and third row Charles Ollivon, scrum half Antoine Dupont, center Arthur Vincent, winger Gabin Villière and back Brice Dulin.

This means that the XV of France will be deprived, to face Scotland, of more than half of its holders.

The organizing committee of the competition was to decide on Wednesday on a possible postponement of the meeting.

This prospect does not please the Scottish Federation, which said Monday evening that a postponement would have consequences on the availability of its players.

Minister Delegate for Sports Roxana Maracineanu met Monday with FFR President Bernard Laporte and "asked that his cabinet be sent a daily report on the results of members of the French delegation, who are now tested every day. evening, "according to a message sent to AFP.
