Senate. Pedro Sánchez avoids the worst moment of the coalition: "I am satisfied with the functioning of the Government"
Pedro Sánchez, in his second appearance before the plenary session of Congress since the declaration of the state of alarm, has announced the Government's intention to promote the economic recovery of the country by activating an aid package of 11,000 million euros for companies, SMEs and self-employed workers .
The president recalled the lessons that the virus has left on the supreme value of science and the need to strengthen public services, especially health.
He has insisted that his objective throughout this time has been to seek unity and mobilize all available resources to face the pandemic and has regretted that the first of these efforts has not been completely successful.
He has failed, according to him, in the national political arena and on this point he has pointed directly to the opposition.
"Now that we are heading to the starting straight," he said, "I want to launch an appeal to that unity because society is exhausted and asks for responsibility and generosity."
