At a press conference at 16.15, the government will provide new information on measures to reduce the spread of infection.

According to TT's experience, the Government Offices and the Swedish Public Health Agency have, among other things, discussed a national recommendation that you should not shop with the whole family or several together, but be alone when entering a store.

This is to further reduce the risk of congestion.

The recommendation to shop alone applies to everyone, except people who need companions and small children, according to TT's information.

It will be the stores that will be responsible for only letting customers into the premises alone.

There are also discussions about making changes to the rules for how many customers are allowed to stay in a certain area.

However, these are large department stores such as Ikea.

Current rules of ten square meters per person mean that the maximum ceiling can be very high when it comes to such large areas.

However, that measure is not expected at today's press conference.

Prolonged alcohol stop?

However, the government is expected to announce an extension of the ban on serving alcohol at the pub after 8 pm. If the ban is not extended, it will be possible for restaurants to serve alcohol until 10 pm from Monday - just when Stockholmers' sports holiday has begun.

It may also be necessary to take further measures to ensure that guests are not left behind when the alcohol ban takes effect.

The Swedish Public Health Agency has previously pointed out problems with restaurants continuing to be open late at night - but without alcohol sales.

State epidemiologist Anders Tegnell reminded at Tuesday's press conference that it is the already existing measures that are the important ones, for example the basic council on keeping a distance.

Above all, it is now a matter of ensuring that existing recommendations and restrictions work better.

I am a little worried that we now believe that new measures will solve the situation, said Anders Tegnell.

More control

One way to screw up existing rules is to tighten the county administrative boards' supervision of shops, gyms and other activities covered by the so-called restriction ordinance.

According to information to TT, there are discussions to improve the controls of what does not work.

The aim of the supervision is that the activities must voluntarily correct deficiencies, otherwise the county administrative board can decide on a fine.

Several regions are worried that the sports holiday will lead to a third wave of infections.

But Anders Tegnell is cold-hearted about demands that the government and the Public Health Agency introduce national travel recommendations.

This spring, people were urged to avoid traveling longer than two hours.

It is difficult to understand what effect it would have, Tegnell said yesterday.
