When customs officials on the Swedish side of the Öresund Bridge boarded a bus on its way to Norway, their dogs marked two passengers, a 51-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man.

Checks and X-rays later showed that the woman had swallowed capsules with 330 grams of cocaine and that the man had swallowed capsules with 620 grams of cocaine.

On Wednesday, they were sentenced by Malmö District Court to prison.

The man receives a prison sentence of four years and four months, the woman three and a half years.

However, the district court does not consider that they were behind the smuggling plan. A 31-year-old fellow passenger is judged to be the mastermind behind the smuggling and therefore he is sentenced for the smuggling of the entire batch of cocaine, to imprisonment for five and a half years.
