It is contagious and more deadly than other strains, worried about a new mutated strain of Corona

American scientists said that the novelty appeared in California, it may be more lethal and susceptible to resistance to vaccines.

A report by the "

Science Alert

" website

indicated that scientists are increasingly concerned about the strain that appeared last spring, but did not appear on scientists' radar until this winter.

The scientists warned that the new strain is more contagious than other strains and may be resistant to vaccines currently available around the world.

In a study that has not yet been subjected to scientific review, scientists analyzed 2,172 samples of the virus, called B.1.427 / B.1.429, and all samples were collected from California between the period from September 2020 to January 2021.

The scientists concluded that by last January, this species was predominant in the state and cases of it were doubling every 18 days.

The study found that the new version is 40 percent better at infecting human cells compared to other strains.

Scientists have detected that those infected with this strain have more levels of the virus in the nose and throat than those infected with other viruses.

The scientists warned that their findings regarding the new strain are disturbing, and called for the version to be considered "disturbing," similar to the versions that appeared in Britain, South Africa and Brazil.

It is noteworthy that the appearance of the mutated copies is not at all surprising, as this is a natural development as the virus undergoes changes over time to ensure its continuation.

The British health services states on their website that "more than four thousand SARS-Cove-2 mutants have been identified worldwide."

Corona has caused the death of 2,474,437 people in the world since the WHO office in China reported the outbreak of the disease at the end of December 2019, while more than 111,641,390 people have been confirmed to have the virus since its appearance, and at least 68,552,400 people have recovered.
