Sinsheim (dpa) - Bundesliga soccer club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim longs for the first-time round of 16 in the Europa League.

"For us as a club, as a team, for me personally, it would be a great success," said coach Sebastian Hoeneß the day before the second leg on Thursday (18.55 / DAZN) against Molde FK.

"If it works, we'll be very happy because we've achieved something historic."

The Hoffenheim team can look forward to the greatest international success in the club's history - and a lifeline for the so far not very successful season in the Bundesliga.

In the first leg in the Spanish alternative venue Villarreal, however, there was a very annoying 3: 3 against the Norwegians a week ago after a 3: 1 lead.

"I think we can advance and even win the Europa League," said Bayern loaner Chris Richards optimistically.

Under coach Julian Nagelsmann, the Kraichgauer were once eliminated in the Europa League and in the Champions League after the preliminary round.

TSG wintered under Hoeneß for the first time in international business.

The 38-year-old has to do without nine injuries, and Stefan Posch is out due to Corona.
