Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez sparked controversy again, after a shot during the match that ended with his team losing 1-0 to Chelsea on Tuesday, in the first leg of the Champions League final.

Suarez entered the club with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger in the 79th minute, and television footage showed an exchange between the players and anger appeared on the German defender's face before the referee intervened to separate them.

The footage did not show the reason for the disagreement between the players, but footage published after the match showed that the former Barcelona striker discarded a Chelsea defender, which caused the outbreak of the dispute.

Usually Suarez resorts to such tricks to provoke defenders in order to obtain penalties or fouls in an area close to the opponent's goal, but his ruse did not succeed this time.

This shot brought back to mind controversial footage, which caused Suarez to face heavy penalties during his career.

The 34-year-old striker was previously suspended for 7 games while playing for Ajax Amsterdam in 2010, for biting a player from Eindhoven.

Three years later, he received a suspension of 10 matches with Liverpool after he was bitten by Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, and the most famous incident of biting him was Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup.

At that time, he was subjected to a 4-month ban from any football-related activity and a fine of more than 100,000 dollars, in addition to the suspension of 9 matches with his country's national team.
