Erfurt (dpa) - Should a nationwide timetable for corona measures fail, Thuringia wants to coordinate with its neighboring countries Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.

"If an agreement on a nationwide uniform procedure should not be reached, we want to sound out the possibilities at least for a joint procedure with our immediate East German neighbors Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt," said the State Secretary and authorized representative of the Free State of Thuringia at the federal government, Malte Krückels, on Wednesday in the Thuringian state parliament.

Thuringia wants to continue promoting the fact that there will be a Germany-wide graduated plan, said Krückels.

He relied on statements by Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) in the most recent cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

The federal and state governments want to discuss how to contain the corona pandemic next Wednesday.
