Hamburg (AP) - Defense chief Christopher Avevor from FC St. Pauli has to undergo another operation on his left ankle.

As the Hanseatic second division soccer team announced, the intervention on the 29-year-old central defender will be carried out on (today) Wednesday in Munich.

Avevor is expected back on Friday in Hamburg, where he will then begin his rehab.

The captain of the Kiezkicker broke his left fibula and tore the front syndesmosis ligament in the game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth in August 2019.

In May 2020 the unlucky person celebrated his comeback.

In December of last year, however, a second operation was necessary because over time an instability in the operated joint had developed.
