Senftenberg (dpa / bb) - Some participants in the car parade against the Corona measures last Saturday in Senftenberg (Oberspreewald-Lausitz) are said to have shown the Hitler salute - the state security of the Brandenburg police determined.

As the Police Department South announced on request on Tuesday, an online complaint was received, according to which four participants in the registered demo had shown the Hitler salute from the cars.

The police themselves did not see the prohibited gesture, said police spokesman Maik Kettlitz.

First of all, the "Lausitzer Rundschau" reported.

According to the penal code, showing the Hitler salute is a criminal offense, it threatens a fine or imprisonment of up to three years.

According to the police, around 170 cars drove through Senftenberg during the demo.

It was the third event in the city.

In Spremberg (Spree-Neisse) and Finsterwalde (Elbe-Elster) there have also been such elevators for a few weeks.

The participants demonstrate against the corona measures by honking their horns and sometimes with fabric banners on their cars.

Participation was called in Telegram groups and on Facebook, including from the AfD local association Senftenberg and the Cottbus initiative “Citizens for Citizens' Rights”.

According to the police, the applicants themselves do not belong to the right-wing scene or are known to the police.

In Spremberg - there were around 90 vehicles on the road last Friday - there was a fight between three participants after the event, according to the police.

Investigations are ongoing, as it was said.

And in Finsterwalde, with more than 160 cars, counter-protesters pushed garbage cans onto the street and threw firecrackers to stop the column.

"Nobody was injured, nothing was damaged," said Kettlitz.

Firecrackers also flew in Spremberg - it was checked whether there were any administrative offenses under the Explosives Act.
