Gera (dpa / th) - At least four cars crashed into unusual obstacles on Autobahn 4 near Gera: two sofa parts.
According to initial findings, these were lost from a pick-up, the police said.
People weren't hurt.
Until the parts were removed, the A4 between the Gera junction and the Gera-Leumnitz exit in the direction of Dresden was closed for one and a half hours on Monday evening.
There was a two-kilometer traffic jam.
It often happens that a cargo is lost, said the police spokesman.
An incident with a sofa, the parts of which were scattered over such a large distance, and so many victims is special.
At least four cars are affected.
But it could be that other injured parties reported.
The cars were damaged on the front or underside.
According to the police, the accidents resulted in total provisional damage of 10,000 euros.
The perpetrator is initially investigated for fleeing a traffic accident.
