Münchsteinach (dpa / lby) - A 72-year-old scooter driver was fatally injured in the middle Franconian district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in a collision with a tractor.
According to the police, the man was in the early afternoon in Altershausen in the Münchsteinach community on the village road towards Hombeer.
For a still unknown cause he came too far to the left on the road and crashed head-on into an oncoming tractor with the shovel tilted down.
Despite resuscitation measures and alerting a rescue helicopter, the 72-year-old succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.
By order of the public prosecutor's office, an expert was called in to clarify the cause of the accident.
