China News Service, February 23. According to the Russian Satellite Network report, on the 22nd local time, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Zakharova said that Russia welcomed Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency's consensus on overseeing Iran's nuclear facilities.

  According to reports, Zakharova pointed out that during the visit of IAEA Director General Grossi to Tehran on February 21, the two sides reached an important consensus in principle, aiming to continue cooperation between the two parties and the IAEA will further systematically implement verification. Activities and guarantee the high transparency of Iran’s nuclear program.

  Zakharova said in her comments, "We welcome this measure, and we hope that this move will improve the overall political situation in Iran and its nuclear issue."

  Zakharova also stated that Russia calls on all participants in the Iranian Nuclear Issue Agreement "Joint Comprehensive Action Plan" (Iranian Nuclear Agreement) and the United States to take immediate action to save the agreement.

  The International Atomic Energy Agency and the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization issued a joint statement on February 21. The two sides reached a temporary technical agreement. The IAEA can continue to carry out necessary supervision and verification work on Iran for a period of three months.

  In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany.

As part of Iran’s commitment in the Iran nuclear agreement, Iran has adopted some voluntary measures related to nuclear activities in accordance with the additional protocol of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, giving the International Atomic Energy Agency more extensive authority to supervise Iran’s nuclear activities.

Suspension of the protocol means that these measures will be suspended.

  There are disagreements between the United States and Iran on returning to the Iran nuclear agreement. The United States requires Iran to first resume compliance with sanctions. Iran insists that the United States must first lift the sanctions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif once again stated on February 21 that if the United States wants to discuss the rescue of Iran’s nuclear deal, it must first lift its sanctions against Iran, and Iran will not take the first action to restore agreements with major powers.
