London (dpa) - According to player agent Mino Raiola, the young professional footballer Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund will be "one of the stars of the next decade".

However, "only a maximum of ten clubs" could afford the 20-year-old BVB striker, said Raiola in a BBC interview (Tuesday).

"And four of these clubs are in England," added the 53-year-old, whose clients also include the striker from Norway.

In view of Haaland's high level already at his age, of course everyone had an eye on the BVB striker, said Raiola.

Stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi are getting on in years, and everyone is asking: How long can we still admire them? ”

That is why the new generation around Haaland and Co. is now in focus.

"I think there is no sports director or coach in the world who would say: not interested," said Raiola, referring to Haaland.

The native Italian is considered an influential and controversial player's agent.

In addition to Haaland and Ibrahimovic, his clients also include Paul Pogba and Marco Verratti.

He was annoyed by the often negative image of his industry, "but my players don't call me a parasite," said Raiola.

At the same time, he announced that the soccer agents are ready to go to court in view of FIFA's radical plans to regulate their activities.

The world association FIFA announced in November 2020 that it would tighten the rules for player advisors that were relaxed five years ago and thus ensure more transparency.

One of the key points of the new regulations for player agents should be the reintroduction of a license system.

The license can only be renewed by participating in courses.

The aim is to achieve more professionalism again.
