Korean Air and Asiana Airlines of South Korea have decided to suspend the operation of Boeing aircraft equipped with the same type of engine after the engine parts fell from a passenger plane in flight in the United States on the 20th.

On the 20th, near Denver, Colorado, in the western United States, the engine of a United Airlines Boeing 777 was damaged and parts fell into a residential area.



In response, Boeing called on airlines to suspend the operation of 777 aircraft with the same type of engine until the FAA = Federal Aviation Administration established appropriate inspection procedures.



Under these circumstances, Korean Air announced on the 23rd that it has decided to suspend the operation of all 16 aircraft equipped with the same type of engine.



In South Korea, Asiana Airlines has suspended all nine flights since the 22nd.



In addition, according to Korean media, LCC = low-cost carrier Jin Air also owns four aircraft and is currently considering support.



Regarding this trouble, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has instructed domestic airlines to suspend the operation of passenger aircraft of the same type equipped with the same engine.
