While a nurse was taking an inventory of the personal effects of a patient dropped off in the emergency room after a gunshot wound on Monday evening in Nice, she handled a pen which turned out to be a concealed weapon.

The caregiver and one of her colleagues were injured.

Two nurses were injured while handling the pen-pistol of a patient in a hospital in Nice on Monday evening, according to information collected by Europe 1. The man, aged 20, was dropped off at around 8:30 p.m. after a gunshot wound.

His companions had fled.

A hidden weapon, especially marketed in the United States

Police went to the hospital but the young man was unable to speak.

At around 11 p.m., a nurse took an inventory of the patient's personal belongings, who was undergoing surgery.

She then handled a pen, which turned out to be a pen-pistol, a concealed weapon.

The blow went off, injuring the caregiver on the hands, as well as another nurse.

Mainly sold in the United States, pistol pens have been circulating in France for about ten years.

They look like a classic pen.
