Los Angeles (AP) - Golf superstar Tiger Woods (45) was injured in a traffic accident, according to police.
Woods was alone on a street in Los Angeles when his car crashed for an initially unknown cause, the responsible police department said.
The car was so badly damaged that Woods had to be cut out with a special device.
Then he was taken to a hospital.
How badly Woods was injured, the police did not initially announce.
The golf professional is currently in rehab after a back operation.
