Rome (AP) - FC Bayern Munich starts in the Champions League game against Lazio Rome with youngster Jamal Musiala.
Coach Hansi Flick offers the offensive player, who will turn 18 next Friday, in the first leg of the first leg, presumably in the offensive midfield on the position of Thomas Müller.
The 31-year-old Müller is missing in the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday evening after a corona infection.
Niklas Süle, who was ailing after the 2-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, can also start from the start.
The national player will again represent Benjamin Pavard (Corona quarantine) on the right back.
As announced by Flick, Leon Goretzka is also in the starting line-up.
The national player should provide stability and momentum in midfield alongside Joshua Kimmich.
Flick had recently used the great offensive talent Musiala very little.
The Bayern coach justified this on Monday by saying that there were “certain fluctuations in the development of such a young player”.
In the past few weeks there has been "a lot of hustle and bustle" around Musiala.
National coach Joachim Löw hopes, for example, that the English U21 international, who was born in Stuttgart, will decide on a future in the German national team.
