The Ministry of the Interior unveils its "10,000 youth plan" on Tuesday, with internships and apprenticeship contracts, but above all offers aimed at young people from difficult neighborhoods.
A way for the ministry to trigger vocations and calm the sometimes tense climate between the police and the youth.
A few days after the special "Europe 1 Solidarity" week to help young people and put them in touch with recruiting companies, Europe 1 unveils Tuesday exclusively the "10,000 young people plan" of the Ministry of the Interior.
Gérald Darmanin unveiled some leads on January 25, and almost a month later, the Ministry of the Interior published 10,000 offers of internships and apprenticeship contracts.
These offers are mainly intended for young people from difficult neighborhoods, from the 60 “Republican Reconquest Quarters”, a system launched in 2018. They can be found here.

All the trades that make up the Ministry of the Interior
The idea is to offer internships and apprenticeship contracts in all the trades that make up the Ministry of the Interior.
The spectrum is therefore very broad and ranges from the garage owner who takes care of police or firefighters' cars, to the communication service of a prefecture, including the restoration of the establishments of the ministry, or even the legal services.
The offers will exist from 16 years old with 1,800 third year internships lasting one week.
For those who want to discover the gendarmerie, from 16 to 18 years old, 1,200 places will be open to integrate the cadets of the gendarmerie in September, with a possible school support in addition.
Still in the internship category, 4,000 offers will be offered, for internships of a few weeks but also sometimes of a few months, paid, for high school pupils and students up to 25 years old.
1,500 additional young people will also be able to do their civic service, a mission that can last up to a year.

Training in all areas
Finally, the Ministry of the Interior wants to double its number of apprentices by opening 1,500 places, again in all areas and for training that can last up to three years.
It is possible to apply from Tuesday evening on the website of the Ministry or the departmental prefectures which promises to call back the candidates within a few days.
