Qui Schwier (dpa / lrs) - After an attack by a larger dog, the Yorkshire Terrier of a ten-year-old died in Quiigart.

The 10-year-old owner took the dog out with her grandmother and her sister around noon when they met another walker with a dog at a lake, the police said on Sunday evening.

The bigger dog broke loose and bit into the terrier.

After the ten-year-old and her grandmother separated the animals, the little dog jumped into the lake.

The elderly woman jumped after and pulled the animal out of the water.

She had to be treated for hypothermia.

The terrier died while being transported to the veterinary clinic.

According to the police, the other dog owner fled without taking care of the elderly woman or the dog.

He is said to be around 50 years old.

His dog is therefore a dark brown or black German Shepherd mix.
