SIPA PRESS

  • The health crisis linked to Covid-19 has postponed regional elections by three months.

The National Assembly has fixed, in mid-February, the election dates for June 13 and 20.

  • Four months before the ballot,

    20 Minutes

takes stock of the candidates declared or announced to succeed Valérie Pécresse, outgoing president of the Ile-de-France region.

This has not yet expressed itself on a candidacy.

  • On the left, three personalities have declared themselves: Audrey Pulvar, Clémentine Autain and Julien Bayou.

It was in December 2015. After a visit to the window of her campaign HQ located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, to heavy applause, Valérie Pécresse, just elected as president of the Ile-de-France region, pronounced her first speech: "Tonight, you have chosen to bring the majority of votes for change in Ile-de-France, [...] I will be the president of all Ile-de-France residents", she promised in a "solemn commitment", indicating “Security and employment” as its “immediate priorities”.

Six years later, place for new regional elections.

And one thing is certain: the region stirs up greed.

Initially scheduled for March 2021 but postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic, these elections must be held on June 13 and 20.

A first step before the presidential election.

And while Valérie Pécresse (ex-LR) has not yet formalized her candidacy, many political figures have entered the battle.

Overview of the forces present, concentrated on the left around three people.

Audrey Pulvar, head of the “Ile-de-France en Commun” list

"I am officially a candidate", declared at the end of January to the

Parisian

, Audrey Pulvar, deputy mayor of Paris.

"We have a lot of proposals to get out of Valérie Pécresse's policy which is that of the old world," she added.

The former journalist in charge of sustainable food, agriculture and short supply chains at the Paris city hall was involved very early in Anne Hidalgo's campaign and had worked a lot behind the scenes.

Head of the left list "Ile-de-France en commun" with a flagship proposal for free public transport in Ile-de-France, amounted to 2.2 billion euros, it will also give a first trend indicator to Anne Hidalgo, regularly cited as a possible candidate in 2022.

Clémentine Autain, head of the LFI and PCF list

In her declaration of candidacy, Clémentine Autain announced that she wanted to “put equality at the heart of the development of Ile-de-France, so that […] the border that is today the peripheral in hyphen and that we bring the living quarters closer to the workplaces.

Recently, the LFI deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis spoke out against a "territorial separatism" favored according to her by the policy of Valérie Pécresse.

But how to distinguish between it and the other forces in the presence of the left?

The LFI-PCF candidate believes that we must at all costs avoid "the game of seven differences with the other left-wing candidates" and not "spend our days hitting each other".

At the launch of her campaign, she recalled: “I am the only one to have made a clear commitment to say that in the second round it will be necessary to bring together the left-wing and environmentalist lists to beat Valérie Pécresse.

"

Julien Bayou, head of the EELV list

Last left figure for these elections: Julien Bayou.

The EELV candidate, who left early in the campaign, has increased his outings in the Ile-de-France region.

Benoît Hamon gave him his support and is in second position in the Yvelines.

"Our opponent is Valérie Pécresse who is damaging the Region", hammered Julien Bayou in early January, ensuring "not to have enemies on the left".

EELV recalls that there is “an urgent need to transform our region in order to learn the lessons of the crisis: Relocate our public services, our food, promote daily transport, support jobs and training for the future.

"

Laurent Saint-Martin, head of the LREM list

A time mentioned, Jean-Michel Blanquer finally left the race.

The candidate of the presidential majority will finally be the deputy of Val-de-Marne, Laurent Saint-Martin.

“We have a lot of things to offer.

It is time to start presenting what we are going to give to Ile-de-France residents as solutions in their daily lives, ”explained the macronist candidate to France 3 Paris Ile-de-France.

And to specify: “We need to prepare the recovery, to reduce the inequalities, in particular territorial, which unfortunately widened in our region.
