Chinanews.com, February 23. According to a report from the Overseas Chinese News Network, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on February 22, local time that in accordance with the requirements for simplifying the process of naturalization examinations, submissions will be made after March 1, 2021. Applicants for naturalized citizens will resume using the naturalized citizenship test question bank revised by the institution in 2008.

According to regulations, the naturalization test question bank is revised every ten years by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service.

The question bank was revised in November 2020, and it was announced that all naturalization applicants after December 1, 2020 must use the 2020 version of the naturalization test question bank.

The Immigration Bureau stated in a statement that the 2020 naturalization test question bank and related regulations "may unintentionally create potential obstacles to the naturalization process."

The 2020 naturalization test question bank will be officially invalidated on April 19, 2021.

The Immigration Bureau also pointed out that all applicants who submitted naturalization between December 1, 2020 and March 1, 2021, will be able to choose one of the 2020 and 2008 editions for the examination during the transition period. Naturalization applicants after March 1 (including the day) will all use the 2008 version of the citizenship test question bank.
