Werner and Kristina Kleinert are a couple in Stockholm who have now decided to move to Värmland.

Specifically to a house north of Sunnemo in Hagfors municipality.

- It was the nice house with a view of Lake Rådasjön, combined with the longing for home that made us make a quick decision, says Werner Kleinert.

He says that both have their roots in Värmland, and that they have never really found their way in the big city of Stockholm.

Therefore, they are both looking forward to moving.

More craving for rural life

And even though several rural municipalities in Värmland are declining in population, there is now an increased interest in buying houses in the country.

- There have been more and more inquiries from the big cities, especially from Stockholm, states Bengt Pettersson, broker in Hagfors.

Can work from home

The corona pandemic has forced many companies to rethink current telework.

Now it is no longer obvious that you have to be in the office every day, which has contributed to more people considering moving to houses in the countryside, especially from the big cities.

- Yes, now I have the opportunity to work from home a couple of days a week, and I like to do that from Värmland, says Werner Kleinert.
